Our symbol is ‘Moto” the Swahili word for fire.
Moto Hope Mission Inc. is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization established in Minnesota in November 2011. We believe in reaching out to people and igniting their full inborn potential. We empower and transform our target communities through Education and the imparting of grass-root entrepreneurial and reorganization skills, village by village. Our firm belief is that rural and urban underdeveloped persons especially women and youth have the potential and resilient capacity to be agents of change. We are committed to gender-equitable opportunities in order to break the vicious poverty cycle and promote impactful development.
Moto Hope Center and Academy...Currently 344 students and still growing!
Moto Hope Center and Academy is located in a serene and conducive learning environment 150 miles northwest of Nairobi in the Molo (Moto) region of Kenya. This is where Rev. Francis, its founder was born and raised. This Center of excellence prides itself in quality and standard facilities that enable it to meet all the emotional, physical, creative, and intellectual needs of all its students. They include a 14-classroom school academy, an administrative wing, a 400-bed hostel, and a community well.
We have on-site a well-equipped modern library with a little over 10,000 books and 30 computers, which are exhaustively utilized by students, staff, and the neighboring St. Francis community. In addition, we have a fully operational health clinic, a modern kitchen, and a 2000-sitting capacity multi-purpose hall. Additionally, we have an agricultural environmental demonstration center for the community and the center's sustainability strategy.
