Every day from 4-5, we have had computer classes for grades 6-8. We have covered some computer basics that will ensure our laptops last for years to come. We have studied mouse skills and correct keyboarding. I belive that these computers and the skill our students gain will set them up for success in the future.
I have enjoyed playing on field, board games and cards in the library as well as reading to the nursery kids. All the kids have been eager to learn and try new games and activities.
I had the opportunity to go on a tour with grades 1-3 and 7-8. With the younger students we had a fun – filled day of rides and playing at olo-ika. Grades 7-8 went to Nanyuki to visit “the Bible on the ground” to learn more about the Bible. We also stopped at Thompsons falls to take in the beautiful site.
These past 2 months have flown by and I am already asking myself “when can I come back” I am beyond blessed to have made so many friends here at Moto Hope. I belive God sent me here to both share things with you all but also to learn from you.
I have been so impressed with the beauty of the people here and the land itself. I can truly say that Kenya feels like home as you all have been so kind, welcoming and accepting. While at times I was surprised by the differences in our ways of life and culture; I was overwhelmed by the similarities. There are so many of us here that share in a strong belief of education and its importance. We all have a passion for teaching, sharing knowledge and being with children.
Thank you to everyone who made this trip of a lifetime possible; I couldn’t have had this experience without you teachers and students. Continue to push yourselves to achieve your dreams and even those things you never thought were possible.
I will miss you all so much. You are in my heart and in my prayers. Be well and take care of each other. I hope to see you all again.
All my love,
Nicole.
